Everything you might ask.

How pricing works, what is insured, open versus enclosed, and the rest. If your question is not here, call us.

General

How much does it cost to ship a car?

Price comes down to distance, vehicle size, whether you choose open or enclosed, the season, and your route. Our instant estimate gives you a real ballpark in seconds with no contact info required. We confirm a fixed price once a carrier is assigned.

Do I have to pay anything upfront?

No. There is no upfront payment. You pay after your vehicle is picked up. It is one of the ways we keep the whole thing low risk for you.

Are you a carrier or a broker?

AutoPilot Logistics is a licensed auto-transport broker. We do not own the trucks. We dispatch from a vetted, insured carrier network, which means we can find you the right truck on almost any lane instead of waiting on one company's schedule.

Is my vehicle insured during transport?

Yes. Every carrier we dispatch carries cargo insurance, and we verify it before they touch your vehicle. For high-value vehicles we can arrange higher declared-value coverage. Personal belongings left in the vehicle are not covered.

What is the difference between open and enclosed transport?

Open transport carries your vehicle on an open trailer with other cars. It is the most affordable and most common choice. Enclosed transport ships your vehicle inside a covered trailer, protected from weather and road debris, which is the right call for luxury, exotic, and classic vehicles.

Can you ship a car that does not run?

Yes. We send a winch-equipped carrier for non-running and inoperable vehicles. Just flag the condition when you book so we send the right truck the first time.

How far in advance should I book?

About a week ahead gives you the best pricing and the most pickup flexibility. We also handle shorter timelines and expedited pickups when a carrier is available on your route.

Can I leave personal items in the car?

A small amount, usually under 100 pounds in the trunk, is generally fine on most carriers. Personal items are not covered by the carrier's cargo insurance, so keep anything valuable with you.

Do you offer door-to-door delivery?

Yes. Carriers pick up and deliver as close to your addresses as the truck can safely and legally reach. On narrow or restricted streets we may meet at a nearby spot with room for the trailer.

How do I track my shipment?

You get a point of contact and status updates through the move. Reach out any time and we will tell you exactly where your vehicle is.

Open Transport

Is open transport safe for my car?

Yes. Open carriers are the industry standard and carry everything from economy cars to new dealer inventory. Your vehicle is exposed to normal road weather, the same as driving it, and every load is insured.

How far in advance should I book open transport?

Booking about a week ahead gives the best pricing and pickup flexibility. We also handle shorter timelines when a carrier is available on your lane.

Enclosed & Luxury

Why is enclosed transport more expensive?

There are far fewer enclosed trailers on the road and each one carries fewer vehicles, so capacity is tighter. You are paying for full protection and lower shared risk.

Do you offer lift-gate loading for a lowered car?

Yes. When you flag low ground clearance, we match you to a carrier with a hydraulic lift-gate so the car never scrapes a ramp.

Single-Car Enclosed

Is single-car enclosed worth it?

For a vehicle you could never replace, yes. You get the whole trailer, direct routing, and timing that fits your schedule rather than a shared load's.

Classic & Exotic

Can you ship a car that sits very low?

Yes. Flag the ground clearance and we match a carrier with a hydraulic lift-gate and low-angle ramps so the car loads without scraping.

Motorcycle

How is my motorcycle secured?

Bikes ride on soft ties anchored to the frame and wheel, not the handlebars or fragile parts, or in a crate for the most valuable machines.

Heavy Equipment

Do you handle permits for oversized loads?

Yes. When a load runs over legal size or weight, we arrange the permits and any required escorts before the wheels roll.

Freight & Flatbed

Can you ship freight that is not a vehicle?

Yes. We handle palletized, crated, and oversized freight on flatbed and specialized trailers, quoted on weight and dimensions.

Boat & RV

Can you move an oversized yacht or RV?

Yes. We arrange the right trailer, pull the over-dimension permits, and plan a route that clears the whole way.

Expedited

How fast can you pick up?

On most lanes we can prioritize pickup within a day or two, and often target a specific date. Availability depends on carriers running your route.

Non-Running

Can you ship a car that does not run?

Yes. We send a winch-equipped carrier. Tell us whether the vehicle rolls, steers, and brakes so we match the right equipment.

White-Glove

What makes white-glove different?

One coordinator owns your move from quote to delivery, you get custom timing and hand-picked carriers, and every step is documented. It is the difference between a shipment and a managed experience.

Dealer & Fleet

Do you offer volume pricing for dealers?

Yes. Repeat and multi-unit business earns better per-unit rates, consolidated billing, and a dedicated account contact.
